Earlier this year, it was revealed that Hulu was developing a new limited series about the true story of Amanda Knox, who was wrongfully convicted in Italy for the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher, and it took 16 years before she was set free.

The untitled limited series is written and executive produced by KJ Steinberg, who has previously worked on “This Is Us”. It will be executive produced by Amanda Knox and Monica Lewinsky, along with Warren Littlefield, who has previously worked on “Fargo” and “The Handmaid’s Tale”.  Also producing the limited series are Ann Johnson, Graham Littlefield, Lisa Harrison and Chris Robinson.

20th Television will be the studio behind the series, which is being produced by The Littlefield Company. The Littlefield Company previously created many true-crime limited series for Hulu, including “The Dropout,” “Candy,” and “The Girl from Plainville,” plus the FX series “The Old Man.”

According to TVLine, Margaret Qualley is going to be starring in the show as Amanda Knox, who spent four years in an Italian prison before being acquitted in 2015.

Margaret has previously starred in “Maid”, “The Leftovers”, “Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood”, FX’s  Fosse/Verdon”, and Searchlight Pictures “Poor Things”.

Filming on the new series is expected to begin later this year, and as with other Hulu Originals created by 20th Television, we should also expect to see it released on Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and as a Star Original on Disney+ around the world.
