Jenna Elfman To Star In ABC’s “Shifting Gears”
Next month, ABC will premiere a brand new comedy series called “Shifting Gears”, which stars Tim Allen as Matt, the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter and her kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.
The series also stars Kat Dennings as Matt’s daughter, along with Seann William Scott as Gabriel, who also works at the shop, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell as Stitch, Maxwell Simkins as Carter and Barrett Margolis as Georgia.
Deadline has also revealed that “Shifting Gears” will also star Jenna Elfman, who will be making her return to primetime comedy, following her successful ABC sitcom, “Dharma & Greg”. Jenna has also previously starred in “Fear Of The Walking Dead”, “Courting Alex”, “Penn”, and “Accidentally On Purpose”.
In the show, Jenna will be playing the role of Eve Drake, a spirited choreographer and owner of the dance studio across from Parker Customs. Jenna is also a classically trained ballerina and actually began her career as a professional dancer, so this will no doubt help her with the role.
Tim Allen executive produces alongside Michelle Nader, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Richard Baker, Rick Messina, John Pasquin, Jim Patterson, Bob Daily and John Amodeo. Pasquin also directed the pilot episode. Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully are executive producers on the pilot episode. Kat Dennings is a producer. The ABC series is produced by 20th Television.
“Shifting Gears” will premiere on Wednesday, 8th January 2025, on ABC, and it will be available to stream the next day on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+. No international Disney+ release details for the show have been announced yet.
