Just ahead of the release of the blockbuster film, “Mufasa: The Lion King”, Walt Disney Records has released two new albums from the film, the soundtrack and the deluxe edition, which also includes the score to the film.

“Mufasa: The Lion King” sees Rafiki telling the story of the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasaas an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.

The album features original songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who has previously worked on Disney’s “Moana” and “Encanto”.  The songs have been produced by Mark Mancina, who previously worked on “Moana” and “Tarzan”.

The deluxe edition also includes the original music composed by Dave Metzger, who has previously worked on Disney’s “Wish” and “Tarzan”.  There are also some tracks created by Lebo M and Nicholas Britell.
