This September, Sony Pictures is bringing the third instalment in “The Equalizer” franchise to the big screen, and it continues the story of Robert McCall, who is played by Denzel Washington, who since given up his life as a government assassin, has struggled to reconcile the horrific things he’s done in the past and finds a strange solace in serving justice on behalf of the oppressed. Finding himself surprisingly at home in Southern Italy, he discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall knows what he has to do: become his friends’ protector by taking on the mafia.

When Is “The Equalizer 3” Coming To Disney+?

Since “The Equalizer 3” is created and distributed by Sony Pictures, so it makes the question about whether it will be released on Disney+ a little more complicated.

In the United States, back in 2021, Disney and Sony announced a multi-year content licensing agreement for U.S. streaming and TV rights to Sony Pictures’ new theatrical releases across Disney’s vast portfolio of platforms, including its streaming services Disney+ and Hulu, as well as linear entertainment networks including ABC, Disney Channels, Freeform, FX and National Geographic. The deal covers theatrical releases from 2022-2026 and begins for each film following its Pay 1 TV window, which is basically after they’ve been on Netflix for around 18 months.

This means, that in around two years’ time, in September 2025, Disney will have the right to put “The Equalizer 3” onto its streaming services, and since Hulu is soon to be merged with Disney+, it might take a while and might only be for a limited time, but in theory, “The Equalizer 3” could be available on Disney+ in the United States only from late 2025 for a couple of years!

However, internationally, it’s very unlikely that “The Equalizer 3” will be added onto Disney+. While Disney has licensed some “Spider-Man” films for Disney+, Sony has signed other deals with different streaming services for its films, making it very unlikely.
