Disney is currently developing a new version of “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” for Disney+, which will star Eva Longoria, Jesse Garcia, Paulina Chávez, Rose Portillo and Thom Nemer.

The film tells the story of 11-year-old Alexander Garcia, who thinks he has the worst luck in the world. When his family sets off on a road trip to California, he’s pretty sure disaster awaits at every corner. His anxiety only increases when a family secret is revealed.

Deadline has reported that George Lopez has left the project due to a scheduling conflict.  In the new version, he was going to be portraying the patriarch of the Garcia family, a tough biker grandfather.  George Lopez is currently starring in NBC’s “Lopez Vs. Lopez“.

This new version of the classic Judith Viorst’s 1972 children’s book of the same name, is going to be written by Matt Lopez and will be directed by Marvin Lemus. The film is produced by Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Lisa Henson. Marisol Roncali and Chelsea Ellis Bloch serve as casting directors.   Disney has previously released a film in 2014, which starred Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner, and Ed Oxenbould, which is also available to stream on Disney+.
