Disney has announced that it will release a selection of National Geographic documentaries on Disney+ in the United States to commemorate the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which saw four coordinated suicide terrorist attacks carried out by al-Qaeda against the United States on Tuesday, September 11, 2001.  The events saw planes crash into both of the New York Trade Center Towers and the Pentagon.

The four documentaries include:

George W. Bush: The 9-11 Interview

Former US President George W Bush discusses his role in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. How he reacted to the tragedy and the pressures he faced to both help US citizens and seek immediate revenge.

2000s Greatest Tragedies

9/11: One Day in America

This documentary series is told through the eyes and testimony of those caught up in the events of September 11, 2001. A detailed account of that day, the films shine a light on the resilience, kindness and bravery that human beings are capable of when tested in such extreme and difficult circumstances.


“9/11: One Day in America” will be available on Disney+ on Wednesday, 6th September 2023, while all three of the other documentaries will arrive a couple of days later on Friday 8th September 2023. All four documentaries have been previously been made available on Disney+ in other countries.
