Every Disney Theatrical Release In 2025
In 2025, Disney will release over a dozen movies in cinemas from across its multiple studios, including Marvel Studios, Pixar, 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, Walt Disney Animation and Walt Disney Studios. There will be a mix of original films and established franchises, plus much more.
Other films from National Geographic and Searchlight Pictures, which generally get more limited theatrical releases, will likely also be released.
Here’s the rundown:
Snow White
“Disney’s Snow White,” a live-action musical reimagining of the classic 1937 film, opens exclusively in theaters March 21st, 2025 and it will be coming to Disney+ a few months later.

Freakier Friday
In the film, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reprise their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman. The story picks up years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endure an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.
This new movie hits cinemas on August 8th 2025, so it will be arriving on Disney+ in late 2025.
Lilo & Stitch
A live-action reimagining of Disney’s 2002 animated classic, “Lilo & S3tch” is the wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugi3ve alien who helps to mend her broken family.
This new original film arrives in cinemas on May 23rd 2025 and will be coming to Disney+ a few months later.
Zootopia 2
Detectives Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before.
“Zootopia 2” hits theaters on November 26th, 2025 and will be coming to Disney+ in 2026.
Tron: Ares
“TRON: Ares” follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.
Disney’s “TRON: Ares” releases in theaters on October 10th, 2025, so will likely arrive on Disney+ in early 2026.
Elio
Elio is a space fanatic with an active imagination and a huge alien obsession. So, when he’s beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide, Elio’s all in for the epic undertaking. Mistakenly identified as Earth’s leader, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who and where he is truly meant to be.
This film has been directed by Madeline Sharafian (“Burrow” Sparkshort), Domee Shi (“Bao” short, “Turning Red”) and Adrian Molina (co-screenwriter/co-director of “Coco”), and produced by Mary Alice Drumm (associate producer of “Coco”), the film features the voices of Zoe Saldaña as Aunt Olga, Brad Garrett as Lord Grigon, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa, and Yonas Kibreab as the title character.
“Elio” is going to be released in cinemas on June 13th 2025, so expect to see it arrive on Disney+ a few months later.
Captain America: Brave New World
After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.
“Captain America: Brave New World” will be coming to cinemas on Valentine’s Day and will be coming to Disney+ later in 2025.
Thunderbolts
Marvel Studios and a crew of indie veterans who sold out present “Thunderbolts*,” an irreverent team-up featuring depressed assassin Yelena Belova alongside the MCU’s least anticipated band of misfits, which includes US Agent, The Winter Soldier, Taskmaster Red Guardian, and Ghost.
“Thunderbolts” arrives in cinemas on May 2nd 2025 and will be added to Disney+ later in 2025
The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” will be released in cinemas on July 25th 2025 and will be hitting Disney+ in late 2025.
Predator: Badlands
In the future, a Predator traverses on an alien wasteland, while two sisters discover their horrifying past
The latest instalment in the “Predator” franchise will arrive in cinemas on November 7th 2025 and will be coming to Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the US and on Disney+ internationally in 2026.
Avatar: Fire And Ash
James Cameron takes audiences back to Pandora in an immersive new adventure with Marine turned Na’vi leader Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Na’vi warrior Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and the Sully family. The film also stars Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Oona Chaplin, Jack Champion, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, and Bailey Bass.
The third film in the “Avatar” franchise will be released exclusively in theatres worldwide on December 19th, 2025 and will arrive on Disney+ in 2026.
The Amateur
Charlie Heller (Malek) is a brilliant, but deeply introverted decoder for the CIA working out of a basement office at headquarters in Langley whose life is turned upside down when his wife is killed in a London terrorist attack. When his supervisors refuse to take action, he takes matters into his own hands, embarking on a dangerous trek across the globe to track down those responsible, his intelligence serving as the ultimate weapon for eluding his pursuers and achieving his revenge.
This new movie is coming to cinemas in April and will be coming to Hulu and Disney+ later in the year.
Deliver Me from Nowhere
This new film from 20th Century Studios tells the eagerly anticipated movie adaptation of Warren Zanes’ fascinating telling of the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 “Nebraska” album. The movie will star Jeremy Allen White (“The Bear,” “The Iron Claw,” “Shameless”) as the visionary musician as he embarks on an emotional journey to record “Nebraska.”
It will be coming to cinemas in 2025, though no exact release has been announced.
