Disney and the BBC have revealed some new details, including title names, directors and writers on the upcoming episodes from the second season of the iconic British sci-fi series, “Doctor Who”.

This season of “Doctor Who” follows the Doctor, who travels through infinite adventures across time and space in the TARDIS. The show is one of the longest-running action-adventure television series in the world, with legions of fans across the globe since it was launched by the BBC in 1963.

The highly anticipated simultaneous global launch will kick start with The Robot Revolution at 8am (UK time) exclusively on BBC iPlayer and later that day on BBC One in the UK. Those outside of the UK can watch exclusively on Disney+ at midnight PST/3 am EST.

Russel T Davies, who is the showrunner of “Doctor Who”, said in a statement regarding the title reveals:

“Excitement mounts as the new season gets closer, and there’s nothing a Doctor Who fan loves more than facts! So here’s a whole bunch of them, with titles and writers, everything you need to get ready for transmission!”

The new season stars Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, Varada Sethu as Belinda Chandra and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday.   The guest cast includes Emmy Award winner Alan Cumming as cartoon foe Mr Ring-a-Ding, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Anita Dobson, Bonnie Langford, Jemma Redgrave, Ruth Madeley, Susan Twist, Caoilfhionn Dunne, Christopher Chung, Evelyn Miller, Ariyon Bakare, Julie Dray, Michelle Greenidge, Angela Wynter, Alexander Devrient, Rylan, Freddie Fox, Jonah Hauer-King, Kadiff Kirwan and many more.

“Doctor Who” is produced by Bad Wolf, with BBC Studios for Disney Branded Television and BBC One and BBC iPlayer.  The show’s executive producers include Joel Collins, Phil Collinson, Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter.

The previous season of “Doctor Who”, along with the recent 60th Anniversary and Christmas specials, are available to stream on BBC iPlayer in the UK and Disney+ in the rest of the world.  

Roger’s Take: Those episode titles will no doubt make many fans of the show wonder what could be coming up in the second season.  Personally, I’m looking forward to the Interstellar Song Contest episode since I’m sure they’re going to have fun with a Eurovision-themed storyline.
