Disney+ Original “Tempest” Release Date Announced

Disney has announced that the upcoming Korean original series, “Tempest” will be coming to Hulu and Disney+ around the world later this year.

The series tells the story of what happens in the shadows of an attempted assassination on a South Korean presidential candidate. As the investigation spirals into a web of state secrets, cross-border intelligence, and clandestine alliances, a former UN ambassador and a morally conflicted mercenary are pulled into an international conspiracy with ramifications stretching to the White House.

“Tempest” will be directed by Kim Heewon, who previously worked on “Queen Of Tears” and has been written by Chung Seokyung, who previously worked on “Decision To Leave”. The show has also been co-directed by Heo Myeonghaeng, who worked on “The Roundup: Punishment” and produced by Imaginus in association with Showrunners, AA, and Skydance.

The new original series stars Gianna Jun, Gang Dongwon, John Cho, Michael Gaston, Spencer Garrett, Lee Misook, Park Haejoon and Christopher Gorham.

“Tempest” will debut on September 10th 2025, with a three-episode premiere, followed by a weekly release, with a two-part episode finale dropping on October 1st 2025.  The show will be released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.
