Later this year, a brand new Star Wars series called “Ahsoka” is coming to Disney+, which will see Rosario Dawson return in the title role. The show is set after the fall of the Empire, “Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. The new series is being created by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, with Katheleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, Carrie Beck, and Karen Gilchrist are also executive producers on the series.

During the recent Walt Disney Company’s quarterly financial results investors call, Disney released a slideshow highlighting some of the great new content coming soon to cinemas and streaming services.

While the list of new films and shows doesn’t give us any surprises, it’s worth noting that “Ahsoka” and “American Born Chinese” both have a “(Season 1)” next to their names, which points to this series, not being limited to just one season like “Secret Invasion” or “Tiny Beautiful Things”.

Ahsoka Tano first debuted in the “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” movie, before starring in the animated series of the same name, and appearing in “Star Wars Rebels” and more. The beloved character would then make the jump to live-action in “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett”.  So with Disney referring to the show potentially having more than one season, hopefully, should the ratings on the upcoming Disney+ Original be high enough, we will see much more of Ahsoka in the future.

Recently, the shows creator Dave Filoni spoke with Empire about his disdain for “hard endings” and prefers to keep the door open to more storytelling.

“I like reading books in a series and then thinking, ‘Oh, there’s another book, and this is going to keep going.’ It’s always sad for me when an adventure ends and the characters are seemingly done with their journey. So I think there’s always that little bit of hope that something can continue.”
