This year, Disney is celebrating its 100th anniversary on October 16th 2023, 100 years after Walt and his brother Roy introduced the magic of Disney to the world and unlocked a special kind of wonder in people’s lives across the globe. Disney will celebrate characters and stories from this first 100 years throughout 2023, including decorating its theme parks, including Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris and Disneyland, and conducting special events around the world, including the Disney 100 Concert and Disney 100 Exhibition.  Plus, it has released numerous special 100th branded consumer products featuring well-known characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and others.

And now Disney+ is getting in on the action, as today, when you boot up the Disney+ app, we are now presented with something brand new, as the Disney 100 logo transforms into the Disney+ logo.

Since last September, Walt Disney Studios updated its opening introduction to celebrate the anniversary, and recently, Disney announced that it would be releasing a collection of 27 newly restored Walt Disney Animation Studios classic shorts to mark the centennial of the Walt Disney Animation Studios, which is being honoured as part of the ongoing Disney 100 celebration.

With this new opening logo, hopefully, we will start seeing Disney embrace its history a little more and add some of the films and shows from its vault, that haven’t yet been released onto Disney+.

Note: You may need to have the Disney+ app updated to the latest version for the new logo to appear.
