Disney has announced that, from today, Disney+ is now available to download on selected Hisense VIDAA-powered Smart televisions in South Africa, which include Hisense, Toshiba, and other leading regional OEM brands.

Hisense has also announced that on new models produced at the Hisense SA Industrial Park in South Africa, the Disney+ app will be pre-installed for seamless streaming on Hisense TV. There will be an update on the current ‘internet-connected’ Hisense Smart TVs in consumers’ homes, and the Disney+ app will automatically appear.

Vivi Liu, President of Hisense South Africa, said in a statement:

“We are excited, together with The Walt Disney Company, to bring Disney+ to Hisense customers. The addition of the vast library of high quality content from Disney+ will provide access to iconic entertainment through our high tech Smart TVs, for millions of our customers.”

With blockbuster films, series and exclusive Originals from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and more, Disney+ offers fans the greatest stories, all in one place, and the next few months are set to be full of entertainment.

Disney+ subscribers in South Africa will have access to upcoming and newly released films and series, including Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated “Loki” Season 2, Disney and Pixar’s Elemental (the most-watched movie premiere of the year on Disney+), Disney’s live-action reimagining of the studio’s Oscar-winning animated musical classic “The Little Mermaid, as well as the hit original comedy series “Only Murders in the Building”, with “The Kardashians”, “The Simpsons” and back seasons of “Grey’s Anatomy”, “9-1-1” and “Black-ish”.

With Disney+ Premium, users will have access to high-quality viewing, up to four concurrent streams, unlimited downloads on up to ten devices, and the ability to set up to seven different profiles, including the ability for parents to set a PIN to access age-appropriate content.
