“Daredevil: Born Again” Showrunner Confirms Show’s Return In 2026
Earlier this week, Disney released the season finale of “Daredevil: Born Again” on Disney+ around the world and it ended with a cliffhanger to set up a second season, which is currently filming in New York.
In Marvel Television’s “Daredevil: Born Again,” Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.
Originally, when it was announced that Charlie Cox was returning as Daredevil for a revival, the new series, “Daredevil: Born Again” would consist of 18 episodes, however, due to a creative overhaul, along with the writers/actors strike, the decision was made to split the show into two seasons.
The showrunner of “Daredevil: Born Again”, Dario Scardapene took to Instagram to thank the team and confirmed that the second season will premiere on Disney+ in March 2026.
It’s all led up to this… Such a mix of emotions as we close out S1. So grateful for the cast, crew and studio for their confidence and indulgence. Biggest of thanks to Sana, Brad, Kevin, Lou, Aaron, Justin, Charlie, Vincent, Deb, Jon and the whole mad circus. And yeah, Season 2 March 2026.
The series also stars Vincent D’Onofrio and Jon Bernthal. Dario Scardapane is showrunner. Episodes are directed by Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Michael Cuesta, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, and David Boyd; and executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Sana Amanat, Chris Gary, Dario Scardapane, Matt Corman & Chris Ord, and Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead.
The first season of “Daredevil: Born Again” is available to stream now on Disney+, along with the previous former Netflix Marvel shows such as “Daredevil”, “Jessica Jones”, “Iron Fist”, “Luke Cage” and “The Defenders”.
Roger’s Take: With filming already underway on the second season and with the show being much more grounded, without as much need for special effects as previous Disney+ Original shows, I’ve no doubt they will be able to turn the show around and get the second season out in early 2026. Disney also wants to make shows for less money and have mutliple seasons, so I don’t think this will be the last we see of Daredevil and co in the future.
