Disney is currently creating a new version of “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” in New Mexico for Disney+, which will star Eva Longoria, Jesse Garcia, Paulina Chávez, Rose Portillo and Thom Nemer.  It was also revealed earlier this week that Cheech Marin had replaced George Lopez, who has left the project due to a scheduling conflict.

The film tells the story of 11-year-old Alexander Garcia, who thinks he has the worst luck in the world. When his family sets off on a road trip to California, he’s pretty sure disaster awaits at every corner. His anxiety only increases when a family secret is revealed.

Deadline has reported that Cristo Fernández has joined the cast of the upcoming Disney+ Original film.  Cristo Fernández has previously starred in the Apple TV+ series, “Ted Lasso”.

In the film, Cristo will be playing the role of Chavo, a cook who meets the Garcias while the family is on a road trip. He bonds with Frank (Jesse Garcia), a fellow chef.

This new version of the classic Judith Viorst’s 1972 children’s book of the same name, will be written by Matt Lopez and directed by Marvin Lemus. The film is produced by Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Lisa Henson. Marisol Roncali and Chelsea Ellis Bloch serve as casting directors. Disney has previously released a film in 2014, which starred Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner, and Ed Oxenbould, which is also available to stream on Disney+.
