Just days after Netflix announced all five seasons of “Arrested Development” would be leaving the streaming service on March 15th 2023, Disney then announced that the first three seasons of the show will arrive on Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland on Wednesday, 22nd March 2023. I’ve now been informed that the release date has been pulled forward a week, meaning the show will leave Netflix and head straight to Disney+ on the same day.

Meet the suddenly penniless, and equally clueless, Bluth family. Accustomed to their wildly affluent lifestyle, they can’t seem to grasp the fact that the head of the family is now in the slammer for shifty accounting practices — and he’s loving every minute of it. Even worse, since the family assets have been frozen, they may actually have to go out and get jobs! The only one who understands the seriousness of their predicament is Michael, who realizes it’s up to him to guide his eccentric family into this new chapter of their lives: Chapter 11.

The series originally debuted in 2003, and 20th Television created the first three seasons. The show was cancelled by Fox in 2006 due to low ratings, even though the series attracted a cult following and received critical acclaim, six Primetime Emmy Awards, and one Golden Globe Award. It has been named one of the greatest TV shows of all time by publications, including Time and Entertainment Weekly.

Disney hasn’t announced when the other two seasons will be made available; since those were formerly Netflix Originals, these have different contractual issues that may be needed to be resolved first.
