After years of fan requests, Disney has finally announced that the classic 1994 film, “Angels In The Outfield”, will be available to stream on Disney+ in the United States on July 15th 2024, to coincide with the film’s 30th Anniversary.

The movie stars Christopher Lloyd (Back To The Future) and Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon III), along with Brenda Fricker, Tony Danza, Ben Johnson, Jay O. Sanders, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

This hilarious, high-spirited favourite is filled with dazzling special effects. When an 11-year-old boy prays for help in resurrecting a last-place baseball team, a band of fun-loving angels answers the call. Magically, the bumbling team of misfits begins an incredible winning streak, one that sceptic coach George Knox (Glover) can hardly believe as head angel Al (Lloyd) calls the miracles play by play, a newfound faith helps the team soar toward victory.

The movie was directed by William Dear and produced by Roger Caswell, Joe Roth, and Irby Smith.

While no international release for “Angels In The Outfield” has yet been announced, hopefully, the movie will be made available in other countries either on the same day or at a later date, since the film currently isn’t available on Disney+ anywhere yet.

Roger’s Take:  It’s great to finally see this movie heading to Disney+, as it’s easily one of the most requested movies that fans have been asking to be added to the streaming service.  Over the past couple of years, Disney seemed to stop adding classic content from its library completely, so its nice to see something from the vault being added.  Hopefully, we get to see more of this.  And this is also a movie I’ve never actually seen (baseball isn’t a big thing in the UK), so I’m interested to see what all the fuss is about.
