The second season of “The Mandalorian” is set to bring “Ahsoka Tano” to our screens for the first time in live action. According to SlashFilm,  Luke Cage star, Rosario Dawson is set to play the role.

”Ahsoka Tano” has appeared in both the Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels animated series.  She was played by Ashley Eckstein.

The character was the Padawan to Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader and she was last seen teaming with Sabine Wren, who is also a Mandalorian, trying to find Jedi apprentice, Ezra Bridger.

Dave Filoni is one of the co-creators of the character and one of those behind not just the animated shows, but on “The Mandalorian”.  And this could help fill in the back story of the shows main villain, Moff Gideon and how he got hold of the Darksaber.
