“Malcolm In The Middle: Life’s Still Unfair” Coming To Hulu & Disney+ In 2026
Back in 2024, Disney announced it was bringing back “Malcolm in the Middle” for a limited, four-episode series, now called “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair,” which will be coming to Disney+ and Hulu in 2026.
The original “Malcolm in the Middle” show followed a young genius, Malcolm, trying to navigate life with his quirky, often difficult family. In these brand-new episodes, Malcolm and his daughter are drawn into the family’s chaos when Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.
The new series from 20th Television and New Regency, the new episodes will see the return of original cast members Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, Bryan Cranston as Hal, and Jane Kaczmarek as Lois.
Also set to star in the series are Chris Kennedy Masterson, Justin Berfield, and Emy Coligado. Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will be taking over the role of Dewey. Other new cast members joining the series include Keeley Karsten, Vaughan Murrae, and Kiana Madeira.
A new teaser trailer has been released, recreating a classic scene with Lois shaving Hal’s back in the kitchen.
Originally, the show was announced to be coming exclusively to Disney+, but as Disney prepares to merge Hulu and Disney+, the show now appears to be rebranded as a Hulu Original. Internationally, this is less important, since Hulu is already a part of Disney+.
All 151 episodes are available to stream on Hulu or via Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.
Linwood Boomer created the original series and returns as writer and executive producer. Bryan Cranston, Tracy Katsky (KatCo), Gail Berman and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann are executive producers. Ken Kwapis will direct all four episodes and executive produce. Jimmy Simons and Laura Delahaye are co-executive producers. The limited series is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios, and New Regency.
