FOX One Streaming Service Launch Details Announced

Following the failure to launch the sports streaming service, Venu Sports, which was going to bring together Disney’s, Warner Bros. Discovery’s and FOX’s sports programming in one place.   Earlier this year, FOX Entertainment announced it would be launching its own direct-to-consumer streaming service called “FOX One” later this year.

Today, FOX Entertainment has revealed that its new streaming service will launch in the United States on August 21st 2025 and will be priced at $19.99 per month or $199.99 annually.

This new streaming service will bring all of FOX’s leading News, Sports and entertainment-branded content together in one dynamic streaming platform. For the first time, cord-cutters and cord-nevers will have live streaming and on-demand access to the real-time thrills, bold, trusted voices and defining stories being told across the full portfolio of FOX brands including FOX News Channel, FOX Business, FOX Weather, FOX Sports, FS1, FS2, FOX Deportes, B1G, FOX Local Stations and the FOX Network. FOX Nation and B1G+ will also be available in the FOX One platform. Users will be able to bundle FOX One and FOX Nation for $24.99 per month or the equivalent of $19.99 per month when purchasing the annual plan at launch.

Pete Distad, CEO, Direct to Consumer, Fox Corporation, said in a statement:

“We’re eager to launch FOX One in just a few weeks and super serve our viewers with the best in live news, sports and entertainment content all in one place.  In bringing together the full power of the FOX content portfolio in one service, we have created a great value proposition and user experience that will appeal to the cord-cutter and cord-never fans currently not served by conventional pay TV packages.”

In addition to many other exciting features, FOX One will feature advanced, AI-powered personalisation technologies that seamlessly integrate live and video on-demand content in a cohesive experience.

Many of Disney’s own shows, such as “Family Guy”, “The Simpsons”, and “Bob’s Burgers” will also be available through FOX One, due to a licensing deal between Disney and FOX.  The launch of this new platform also won’t impact the current deal that brings many of FOX’s entertainment shows like “The Floor” and “Doc” are available to stream on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+, the day after they air.  This existing deal is due to expire in 2029, but depending on the success of FOX One, that may influence whether that contract is extended in a few years’ time.

With more and more customers ditching traditional cable providers, all of the major studios are trying to put together plans to keep existing customers engaged, while also having alternative options for those who have cut the cord.  FOX One is aimed mainly at people who don’t have cable television, but it’s also going to make it even easier for audiences to drop cable if they can get access to everything they want via streaming.  However, how many different apps are people willing to pay for?  Disney is also launching its own streaming version of ESPN later this year, making even more competition for sports fans and ultimately making cord-cutting even easier.
