“Tucci In Great Britain” Coming Soon To Disney+

Following the success of the original series, “Tucci In Italy”, Disney has announced a spin-off series from National Geographic called “Tucci In Great Britain”, which will be coming to Disney+ and the National Geographic channel.

This new five-part docuseries continues Academy Award-nominated, Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning Stanley Tucci’s culinary journey with an all-new chapter through his adopted homeland, Great Britain. From the rugged Highlands to the storied coastlines, Tucci unlocks the distinct — and often surprising — flavours that define each region.

Having spent the past decade living in London, fostering his connection to the country, Tucci is eager to celebrate, magnify and challenge lingering perceptions of British fare. In the new series, he delivers an authentic showcase of Great Britain’s vast and sophisticated food culture, uncovering the stories and traditions through local legends he meets along the way.

Tucci said in a statement regarding the new show:

“I am very excited to explore the history, culture, and people of Great Britain through the prism of food. Having made it my home for almost 15 years, I want to share the culinary diversity, richness, and depth of its food culture.”

Tom McDonald, executive vice president of National Geographic Content, also added:

“Stanley Tucci is one of a kind — smart, funny, authentic, passionate about food and culture and deeply interested in the stories of the people who make the very best food. That’s why I’m so excited that his next journey will be around Great Britain, the place he has called home for over a decade. The stories that Stanley and his team have unearthed will be sure to delight and surprise — a reminder of just how varied and delicious food in the U.K. truly is.”

Elias Tanner, SVP of Strategy & Growth at OBB, added:

“”Tucci In Italy” set the bar for how food storytelling can drive culture, and that’s exactly the kind of work OBB loves to create. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Stanley, Lottie, Tom, Nat Geo, and the whole team on this next chapter — exploring the often misunderstood yet truly rich food culture of Great Britain, and how it has been uniquely shaped by its history and people.”

Like with his award-winning series “Tucci In Italy”, this new series builds on the premium storytelling format that blends food, travel and cultural exploration through a distinctive personal lens. The series transcends the typical food-and-travel genre and is a cinematic exploration of how landscape, history and heritage converge to forge a national identity. The episodes blend National Geographic’s world-class filmmaking with Tucci’s wit, warmth and love of storytelling, offering viewers a feast for the senses and the soul.

The series is produced by SALT Productions and OBB.   For SALT Productions, Stanley Tucci and Lottie Birmingham are executive producers, and Ben Jessop is co-executive producer. For OBB Media, Michael D. Ratner, Scott Ratner and Elias Tanner are executive producers. For National Geographic, Yari Lorenzo is executive producer, Bengt Anderson is senior vice president of production, Charlie Parsons is senior vice president of Global Development, and Tom McDonald is executive vice president, National Geographic Content.

You’ll find both seasons of “Tucci In Italy” on Disney+ now.

Roger’s Take:  Stanley is married to Emily Blunt’s sister, Felicity, so he has a connection to the UK, and will likely have tried many British dishes.  There are some amazing things to eat around the UK, so it’ll be fantastic to see these getting a spotlight on the global stage.
