20th Television is developing a new drama series with The Littlefield Company, called “The Midcoast”, which is based on Adam White’s bestselling novel.

“The Midcoast” is an hour-long drama series that is set on the scenic coast of Maine, exploring the rise and fall of Ed Thatch, a lobster fisherman turned blue-collar criminal with an unstable devotion to his wife.

The new series has been written by Brett Johnson, who has previously co-created “Escape At Dannemora” and worked on “Ray Donovan” and “Mad Men”. He also recently worked on the recent Hulu/Star Original series, “Candy”.

He will be an executive producer along with Warren Littlefield, Ann Johnson, Graham Littlefield and Lisa Harrison for The Littlefield Company. The book’s creator, Adam White is also serving as executive producer on the project.

“The Midcoast” is going to be released on Hulu in the United States and we should expect the series to also be released internationally on Disney+ as a Star Original.
