Disney has announced that the upcoming original series, “Under The Bridge,” will be coming to Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland on June 12th 2024.

“Under the Bridge” is based on acclaimed author Rebecca Godfrey’s book about the 1997 true story that took place on Vancouver Island, B.C of fourteen-year-old Reena Virk (Vritika Gupta) who went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Through the eyes of Godfrey (Riley Keough) and a local police officer (Lily Gladstone), the series takes us into the hidden world of the young girls accused of the murder — revealing startling truths about the unlikely killer.

The eight-episode series, which was filmed in British Columbia, stars Lily Gladstone, Vritika Gupta, Chloe Guidry, Javon “Wanna” Walton, Izzy G., Aiyana Goodfellow, Ezra Faroque Khan with Archie Panjabi and Riley Keough.

Based on the best-selling true-crime book “Under the Bridge” by the late Rebecca Godfrey, the series was adapted for screen by Quinn Shephard and is executive produced by Samir Mehta, Liz Tigelaar and Stacey Silverman (Best Day Ever), Shephard, Geeta Patel, who will also direct, Godfrey and Tara Duncan. Riley Keough will executive produce with Gina Gammell (Felix Culpa). The series is produced by ABC Signature.

This series is currently being released weekly on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ in Canada, with the season finale due to air on May 29th. But as with many of the recent shows, instead of a weekly release, UK Disney+ subscribers have had to wait for the entire series to be released at once.

Roger’s Take: I’ve been looking forward to watching “Under The Bridge”, especially after seeing Lily Gladstone in the “Killers Of The Flower Moon” movie. I’m glad we don’t have to wait too long after the show is released in the States, but I really wish we could just get the episodes at the same time, as my excitement over the show has dipped since the initial launch.
