With almost 2000 movies available on Disney+, I’ve put together a list of the top 50 movies available on Disney+, which includes a selection of different content available, mixing together Disney+ Originals, classic movies, new additions and much more. I’ve also included movies that are available in the US via Hulu On Disney+, which are also available on Disney+ in other countries around the world.

Here is the “What’s On Disney Plus” Top 50 movies on Disney+:

Note – Some titles might not be available in your region

50) The Marvels

Carol Danvers has been busy battling galactic threats off-world as Captain Marvel. While investigating a wormhole in outer space, she becomes inextricably linked to her niece (Monica Rambeau) and her biggest superfan (Kamala Khan). While Captain Marvel usually flies solo, this cosmic coincidence forces her to work with others to save the universe from the threat of the Kree. This is the latest Marvel Studios movie, and since so many people skipped it in cinemas, I’d recommend anyone who hasn’t seen it, to give it a whirl, as it’s a fun adventure that I really enjoyed.

49) Free Guy

A bank teller named Guy realizes he is a background character in an open-world video game called Free City that will soon go offline. This is one of the biggest films of 2021 so far. If you love video games and Ryan Reynolds, this is for you.

48) Next Goal Wins

Thomas Rongen is a soccer coach who loves the beautiful game. But when he’s offered the job of coaching the American Samoa national team, he knows it will be an almost impossible task. The country is known as the worst team in the soccer world rankings. As the World Cup qualifiers approach, Rongen must find and develop a team that can compete. With the arrival of fa’afafine player Jaiyah Saelua, the team made history by including the first transgender player to play in a World Cup game. This comedy from Taika Waititi is a lovely feel-good movie that I was really impressed with, and I would recommend you check it out.

47) Wreck-It Ralph

As a huge video game fan, this movie is right up my street, with lots of small references to classic video games, that take this to a different level! The story sees Wreck-It Ralph travel to other video games because he is fed up with being the villain, which leads him to Vanellope von Schweetz in the kart racing game, Sugar Rush. But the whole game is put at risk from their actions. This is one of the most unique classic animated movies available and certainly one to watch. Ralph Breaks The Internet is also available on Disney+ in some countries.

46) Toy Story 3

It’s easily my favourite Toy Story movie from Pixar as it’s about growing up since Andy’s toys haven’t been played within years, and when Andy goes to college, the gang find themselves accidentally left at a nefarious daycare centre. The toys must band together to escape and return home to Andy. With one scene that will no doubt bring a tear to your eye, this is a must-watch.

And an honourable mention has to go to the original Toy Story that kicked off not just Pixar but the whole computer-animated movie business and will no doubt be one of the most-watched movies on Disney+. All four Toy Story movies are available now on Disney+.

45) National Treasure

Benjamin Franklin Gates seeks a war chest hidden by the Founding Fathers during the Revolutionary War. He must find it before his competitor does and also avoid getting arrested by the FBI. This is one of my favourite live-action films from Disney.

44) Elemental

In a city where fire, water, land, and air residents live together, a fiery young woman and a go-with-the-flow guy discover something elemental: how much they actually have in common.  This new animated film is one of the best films from Pixar in years and has been picking up fans all summer, as many people had written it off as a “Inside Out” clone, but it’s really good and certainly pulls on those heartstrings.

43) Turning Red

Thirteen-year-old Mei is experiencing the awkwardness of being a teenager with a twist – when she gets too excited, she transforms into a giant red panda. This Disney+ Original film is one of my favourite recent Pixar films and is worth taking your time to check out.

42) Beauty and the Beast (1992)

This classic animated hit is one of the most popular Disney movies for a generation. It follows the adventures of Belle, a bright young woman who finds herself in the castle of a prince who’s been turned into a mysterious beast. With the help of the castle’s enchanted staff, Belle soon learns the most important lesson of all — that true beauty comes from within.  This is a classic for a reason and is always worth a watch, plus you’ve also got the live-action version available.

41) Finding Nemo

When a young clownfish called Nemo, is unexpectedly taken from his Great Barrier Reef home to a dentist’s office aquarium. It’s up to his worrisome father Marlin and a friendly but forgetful fish Dory to bring Nemo home — meeting vegetarian sharks, surfer dude turtles, hypnotic jellyfish, hungry seagulls, and more along the way. It’s a classic Pixar movie that is always enjoyable to watch.

40) Deadpool

The movie tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. With the third Deadpool movie set to arrive in cinemas this summer, going back and watching both previous “Deadpool” movies is probably a good excuse to do so.

39) Encanto

The tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal—every child except one, Mirabel. But when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family’s last hope. This movie is one of the most popular films of the last few years, simply because it’s so good!

38) Princess and the Frog

A waitress, desperate to fulfil her dreams as a restaurant owner, is set on a journey to turn a frog prince back into a human being, but she has to face the same problem after she kisses him. This is one of the rare modern movies that uses the traditional 2D art style that many in this list have used.

37′) Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Possibly the best modern-day Star Wars Movie, Rogue One tells the story of a rogue band of resistance fighters to unite for a mission to steal the Death Star plans and bring a new hope to the galaxy. This movie perfectly fills in the gaps of what happened just prior to the events of the first Star Wars Movie. With lots of big action scenes, an interesting team of misfits and an epic Darth Vader scene. This is well worth checking out.

36) Alien

During its return to the earth, commercial spaceship Nostromo intercepts a distress signal from a distant planet. When a three-member team of the crew discovers a chamber containing thousands of eggs on the planet, a creature inside one of the eggs attacks an explorer. The entire crew is unaware of the impending nightmare set to descend upon them when the alien parasite planted inside its unfortunate host is birthed. There is a brand new movie heading to cinemas this summer, so it offers a great opportunity to jump back into this iconic franchise.

35) Star Wars: A New Hope

The movie that changed the world, the original Star Wars film broke new ground as it told the story of Luke Skywalker, who teams with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, Chewbacca and the loveable robot duo R2-D2 and C-3PO, to rescue the beautiful Princess Leia from Darth Vader, as well as restoring peace and justice in the Empire. It’s a classic and will no doubt be one of the most popular movies on Disney+.

34) The Creator

In the midst of a raging war pitting humanity against the forces of artificial intelligence, former Special Forces Agent Joshua is enlisted to track down an individual responsible for creating advanced AI technology and a mystical weapon with the potential to ultimately bring the conflict to an end. This recent Sci-Fi adventure is one of my favourite films from 2023 and is one of the best sci-fi movies from the last few years.

33) The Menu

Hawthorne is the epitome of high-class fine dining and exclusivity. The restaurant sits on an isolated coastal island and produces food that is also conceptual art. The chef at the head of Hawthorne is Slowik, whose staff are in obedient revelry of his genius. Margot and Tyler are a young couple who travel to the Hawthorne in order to experience something out of the ordinary. For Tyler, Hawthorne is a moving meditation on culinary culture but Margot is less enthused. As the evening unfolds, the experience becomes increasingly sinister and what starts as experimental cuisine takes on terrifying consequences for the dinner guests. As someone who used to work in a kitchen, this is one of my favourite Searchlight Pictures film from the last few years.

32) Marvel Avengers: Endgame

The biggest blockbuster ever is set after the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.

31) Pirates Of The Caribbean – Curse Of The Black Pearl

Movies based on theme park attractions don’t usually make good viewing, but this movie kicked off a billion-dollar franchise as Johnny Depp plays Jack Sparrow, a freewheeling 18th-century pirate, who quarrels with a rival pirate, that is bent on pillaging Port Royal. When the governor’s daughter is kidnapped, Jack Sparrow decides to help the girl’s love save her. Easily one of my favourite live-action Disney movies in recent years and there are a number of other sequels featuring Captain Jack that are worth investigating.

30) No One Will Save You

Brynn finds solace within the walls of the home where she grew up until she’s awakened one night by strange noises from unearthly intruders. This sci-fi horror thriller is one of the highlights of the Star/Hulu Original movie lineup and a film that completely blew me away.

29) Flamin’ Hot

The inspiring true story of Richard Montañez, the Frito Lay janitor who channeled his Mexican American heritage and upbringing to turn the iconic Flamin’ Hot Cheetos into a snack that disrupted the food industry and became a global pop culture phenomenon. A heartwarming story that made me want to try out a flamin’ Cheeto for a first time!

28) Monsters Inc

With a brand new spin-off series coming soon to Disney+, take a step back to when we got introduced to James Sullivan and Mike Wazowski, who are monsters, that earn their living scaring children and are the best in the business… even though they’re more afraid of the children than they are of them. When a child accidentally enters their world, James and Mike suddenly find that kids are not to be afraid of and they uncover a conspiracy that could threaten all children across the world. The sequel, Monsters University is also available on Disney+.

27) The Sound Of Music

In the years before the Second World War, a tomboyish postulant at an Austrian abbey is hired as a governess in the home of a widowed naval captain with seven children, and brings a new love of life and music into the home. This classic musical is considered one of the greatest films ever made and is one to keep coming back to, year after year.

26) Black Panther

One of the most important superhero movies to ever be made, with an awesome soundtrack and an impressive cast, this movie redefined origin stories. The movie is set in the African country of Wakana and when King T’Challa returns home, he soon finds that he is challenged for the throne by factions within his own country as well as without. The Black Panther has to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.

25) Frozen 2

Elsa the Snow Queen has an extraordinary gift — the power to create ice and snow. But no matter how happy she is to be surrounded by the people of Arendelle, Elsa finds herself strangely unsettled. After hearing a mysterious voice call out to her, Elsa travels to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond her kingdom — an adventure that soon turns into a journey of self-discovery.

24) Wish

Asha is a teenager living in the Kingdom of Rosas. She senses uncommon darkness in the ruler King Magnifico. She pleads to the night sky for help in understanding and is shocked when it answers. A star called Star falls from above and answers her wish. Together Asha and Star must find a way to battle the oncoming darkness and save the people of Rosas. This newest film from Walt Disney Animated Studios is really enjoyable, with some fantastic songs and plenty of little easter eggs to celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary.

23) Poor Things

Brought back to life by an unorthodox scientist, a young woman runs off with a lawyer on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, she grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation. This Oscar-winning film is not for everyone, but it has certainly gotten plenty of attention.

22) Mary Poppins

The original and still the best, this classic from the 1960s is still as charming and wonderful as when it first came out, as it tells the story of a magical nanny who employs music and adventure to help two neglected children become closer to their father. It’s simply Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

21) Luca

Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, Disney and Pixar’s original feature film “Luca” is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca (voice of Jacob Tremblay) shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, Alberto (voice of Jack Dylan Grazer), but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface. This is a lovely feel-good Pixar film that I adored.

20) Inside Out

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Riley’s guiding emotions— Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness—live in Headquarters, the control centre inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life and tries to keep things positive, but the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school. Easily one of my favourite Pixar movies of all time, Inside Out delivers on a completely different level than other animated movies, the interactions between the 5 emotions is charming and hilarious.  With the second film hitting cinemas this summer, it’s a perfect time to go back and rewatch the original.

19) Prey

Set more than 300 years ago and following the Comanche Nation, Prey tells the story of a uniquely skilled warrior called Naru. When an advanced alien threat emerges, she must do whatever it takes to protect her tribe. This latest installment in the Predator franchise is the best since the original film was released, and it is a fantastic movie!

18) Hamilton

An unforgettable cinematic stage performance, the filmed version of the original Broadway production of “Hamilton” combines the best elements of live theatre, film and streaming to bring the cultural phenomenon to homes around the world for a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime experience. “Hamilton” is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, “Hamilton” has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre—a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education. Filmed at The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June of 2016, the film transports its audience into the world of the Broadway show in a uniquely intimate way. You’ll only find Hamilton on Disney+! Plus there is now a sing-along version of the film available on Disney+

17) Tangled

Disney managed to retell the story of Rapunzel in a unique way that sees her strike a deal with the handsome thief and the unlikely duo sets off on an action-packed escapade, complete with a super-cop horse, an overprotective chameleon and a gruff gang of pub thugs. This is my favourite Disney Princess movie because of the humour that the sidekicks and Flynn Rider bring to the story.

16) Guardians Of The Galaxy

While many questioned if these lovable rogue characters could make it on the big screen when it was first announced, this movie started its own superhero team that delivered big on action, drama and comedy. Light years from Earth, 26 years after being abducted, Peter Quill finds himself the prime target of a manhunt after discovering an orb wanted by Ronan the Accuser. This is unlike anything we have seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is a must-watch.  The two sequels, Vol 2 and Vol 3, are also available to stream now on Disney+, so if you’ve got the time, you’ve got a whole new trilogy to enjoy.

15) The Incredibles

Some might argue this is the perfect Fantastic Four movie, this animated great from Pixar delivers a simple superhero story that is perfect for all ages. Bob Parr has given up his superhero days to log in time as an insurance adjuster and raise his three children with his formerly heroic wife in suburbia. But when he receives a mysterious assignment, it’s time to get back into costume. The Incredibles 2 is also available on Disney+, but personally, I prefer the first one.

14) The Little Mermaid

This is one of the most popular animated movies that kicked off the Disney Renaissance of great movies and it includes some fantastic iconic songs that you can sing along with. This colourful adventure tells the story of an impetuous mermaid princess named Ariel who falls in love with the very human Prince Eric and puts everything on the line for the chance to be with him. Memorable songs and characters — including the villainous sea witch Ursula.   You can also watch the new live-action version of the film on Disney+ too!

13) The Greatest Showman

One of the biggest musical movies from recent times, this smash hit tells the story of P.T. Barnum, who displays a natural talent for publicity and promotion, selling lottery tickets by age 12. After trying his hands at various jobs, P.T. turns to show business to indulge his limitless imagination, rising from nothing to create the Barnum & Bailey circus. Featuring catchy musical numbers, exotic performers and daring acrobatic feats, Barnum’s mesmerizing spectacle soon takes the world by storm to become the greatest show on Earth. This movie will no doubt be extremely popular as fans sing their heart out to some of these amazing hits.

12) Zootopia

This is another fantastic modern Disney animated classic, it tells the story of Officer Judy Hopps, who is the first bunny on Zootopia’s police force, who jumps at the chance to crack her first case – even if it means partnering with scam-artist fox Nick Wilde to solve the mystery. The underlying story of how racism is represented by different animals and the relationship between predators and prey is really interesting.

11) Up

For adults, Up features one of the most heartbreaking scenes in a Disney movie and one that left me in tears. The film tells the story of Carl Fredricksen, who has spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and experiencing life to its fullest. But at age 78, life seems to have passed him by, until a twist of fate (and a persistent 8-year old Wilderness Explorer named Russell) gives him a new lease on life. A must watch.

10) Wall-E

Possibly one of my favourite Pixar movies of all time, this charming story of WALL·E, the last robot left on an Earth, whose job it is to clear all the garbage left by humans before they fled the earth. For 700 years he has continued to try and clean up the mess, but has developed some rather interesting human-like qualities. When a ship arrives with a sleek new type of robot, WALL·E thinks he’s finally found a friend and stows away on the ship when it leaves, leading to a beautiful love story between two robots. It has a very powerful recycling message that is more important now than when it was released in 2008.

9) Avatar: The Way Of Water

Jake Sully and Ney’tiri have formed a family and are doing everything to stay together. However, they must leave their home and explore the regions of Pandora. When an ancient threat resurfaces, Jake must fight a difficult war against the humans. The biggest film from the past few years is a technical masterpiece and a must-watch. You can also find the original “Avatar” film available to stream on Disney+.

8) Coco

One of my favourite movies from recent years, Coco tells the story of Miguel, who dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz, but his family have a ban on music. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colourful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history. With some beautiful songs and a unique story, this one is well worth checking out.

7) Logan

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hideout on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are upended when a young mutant arrives, pursued by dark forces.  With the upcoming “Deadpool & Wolverine” movie coming to Disney+ later this year, I’d suggest giving this one a re-watch.

6) Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark

When Dr. Indiana Jones – the tweed-suited professor who just happens to be a celebrated archaeologist – is hired by the government to locate the legendary Ark of the Covenant, he finds himself up against the entire Nazi regime. This classic film from the 80s launched a brand new franchise that has spanned decades and is easily one of my favourite films of all time.

5) Frozen

This movie was a juggernaut for Disney in the past decade, from the box office, merchandise, music and even on Broadway. When their kingdom becomes trapped in perpetual winter, fearless Anna (Kristen Bell) joins forces with mountaineer Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and his reindeer sidekick to find Anna’s sister, Snow Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel), and break her icy spell. Although their epic journey leads them to encounters with mystical trolls, a comedic snowman (Josh Gad), harsh conditions, and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff bravely push onward in a race to save their kingdom from winter’s cold grip.

4) The Lion King (1994)

The original animated classic is still my favourite Disney movie of all time, the music is amazing and iconic. It’s one of Disney’s most unique animated classics, that tells the story of a young lion cub named Simba, who just can’t wait to be king. But his uncle Scar, craves the title for himself and will stop at nothing to get it, leading to Simba being banished from his home, only to return years later when his pride need him.

3) Moana

Easily one of my favourite modern animated movies and sees Moana answer the call of the ocean, taking to the seas to save her people from a terrible curse. The movie features Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the Demigod Maui and his character really adds some great comedy moments. Moana delivers an awesome soundtrack, including “Your Welcome” and “How Far I’ll Go”. A sequel is heading to cinemas this year, and as the most popular movie on Disney+, this film is one to check out if you haven’t already.

2) Marvel Avengers: Infinity War

It took ten years and 18 movies to build towards this, but this movie brings together Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to battle Thanos and his Black Order, who plans on wiping out half the universe’s population, by uniting the 6 Infinity Stones and clicking his fingers! A true epic.

1) Star Wars – Empire Strikes Back

Easily my favourite Star Wars movie of all time and one that has one of the most iconic moments in the history of cinema. The epic saga continues as Luke Skywalker, in hopes of defeating the evil Galactic Empire, learns the ways of the Jedi from ageing master Yoda. But Darth Vader is more determined than ever to capture Luke. Meanwhile, rebel leader Princess Leia, cocky Han Solo, Chewbacca, and droids C-3PO and R2-D2 are thrown into various stages of capture, betrayal and despair. And if you’re going to watch this one, you might as well pop “A New Hope” and “Return of the Jedi” on as well.
