It might only be the beginning of May, and the flowers are blooming, with most of us getting ready for the summer season, but Disney is getting ready for the spooky season, as it’s Halfway To Halloween!

To celebrate, Disney has been revealing lots of new Halloween themed merchandise that’s going to be coming to stores and theme parks later this year, including a hauntingly new collection inspired by the Haunted Mansion.

Disney has also announced that tickets for this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World Resort will be going on sale on May 15th.  And they’ve also confirmed that the Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Parties will also be returning to Disneyland later this year.

It’s also been revealed that guests will be able to show off their best villain dance moves in a new DescenDANCE Party, which has been inspired by the upcoming Disney+ movie, “Descendants: The Rise of Red”.

So if you want to join in on the celebration, you can do so from home, as there are plenty of great Halloween films available to watch on Disney+ right now, including:

Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas

Jack Skellington, a being from Halloween Town, finds Christmas Town and is instantly enchanted. The situation becomes riveting when his obsession with Christmas leads him to abduct Santa Claus.   This classic animated movie continues to inspire new generations and let’s be honest, any excuse to watch this film is valid.

Hocus Pocus

This classic live-action movie is about three witches resurrect after 300 years to exact revenge and begin a reign of terror after Max, a young boy who moves to Salem with his family, lights the cursed Candle of Black Flame.   The sequel is also exclusive to Disney+, and a third movie is also rumoured to be happening.

Haunted Mansion

This movie was released in cinemas last summer and was quickly rushed to Disney+ for the spooky holiday and tells the story of a woman and her son enlisting a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters.  Considering Disney released this movie in the middle of last summer, why not check this movie out on Disney+ now if you haven’t already.

For fans of Halloween, the Freeform channel is also celebrating Halfway To Halloween with airings of selected spooky-themed movies like the original “Haunted Mansion” movie.
