“Tucci In Italy” Renewed For A Second Season
Last month, Disney released a brand new documentary series from National Geographic called “Tucci In Italy”, which was released on Disney+ around the world.
The series follows Stanley Tucci, who goes on a visually stunning and deeply personal exploration of the country’s breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and the complex connections with its food that have shaped each region’s distinct culture and, of course, their iconic pasta.
In each episode, Tucci ventures off the beaten track to meet fascinating people from all walks of life who will share their stories and the extraordinary dishes that make Italian food the world’s most loved cuisine.
National Geographic has announced that the show has been renewed for a second season
Some dishes are so good, you need a second helping. After a critically acclaimed and award-winning first season, @stanleytucci and National Geographic are teaming up again for a second season of #TucciInItaly. Join Stanley as he continues to uncover the lesser-known culinary rituals that define each region and discovers the remarkable history and traditions behind their incredible food with the aid of local chefs, historians, farmers, winemakers, and artisans.
Originally, when Disney announced “Tucci In Italy”, it was ordered for ten episodes; however, so far Disney has only released five episodes, so it looks like the ten-episode order has been split into two seasons.
In the first season, Tucci visited Tuscany, Lombardy, Trentino-Alto Adige, Abruzzo and Lazio. In the second season, we will see Tucci head off to other regions within Italy, including Sicily, Veneto, and Marche.
“Tucci In Italy” is produced by SALT Productions and BBC Studios. For SALT Productions, Stanley Tucci and Lottie Birmingham are executive producers. For BBC Studios, Amanda Lyon is executive producer, Ben Jessop is co-executive producer, and Alan Holland is head of Specialist Factual Productions. For National Geographic, Charlie Parsons is senior vice president of Global Development, and Tom McDonald is executive vice president of Global Factual and Unscripted Content.
