“Snow White” Disney+ Release Date Announced
Disney has announced that the live-action reimagining of the classic animated film, “Snow White”, will be coming to Disney+ later this month.
Starring Rachel Zegler in the title role and Gal Gadot as her Stepmother, the Evil Queen, the magical adventure journeys back to the timeless story with beloved characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy.
“Disney’s Snow White” is directed by Marc Webb, written by Erin Cressida Wilson, and produced by Marc Platt, and Jared LeBoff with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer, and features all-new original songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
Fans can also revisit “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, the groundbreaking animated classic that marked the dawn of Disney’s storytelling legacy, now streaming on Disney+, and return to the wishing well where the magic first began!
The film was released in cinemas on March 21st 2025, meaning it’s only taken 82 days to go from cinemas to Disney+, which is one of the quickest theatrical to streaming releases for a while. It’s also interesting that Disney is only giving just over a week’s notice, highlighting that Disney is just trying to get the film out of the way, especially following the huge backlash to the film due to the actors chosen to star in the movie.
Unfortunately for Disney, “Snow White” has been a box office disaster, pulling in just over $200 million globally, making it one of the worst performing live-action remakes, but with the Disney+ release, this will give the movie a chance to be seen by many more people, however, I’m not sure the film is going to perform too well in the long run, but there will no doubt be plenty of interest from Disney+ subscribers who will want to see what all the fuss was about.
