Searchlight Pictures “Rye Lane” & “All Of Us Strangers” Lead British Independent Film Awards Nominations
The nominees for this year’s British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) have been revealed, and two of Searchlight Picture’s have picked up multiple nominations, with “Rye Lane” getting 16 nominations, with the upcoming “All Of Us Strangers” being nominated in 14 categories including Best Director sponsored by Sky Cinema and Best Screenplay. With National Geographic’s “Bobi Wine: The People’s President” also picked up multiple nominations.
Susan Wokoma and Morfydd Clark made the announcement at One Hundred Shoreditch, London. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Sunday, 3rd December 2023.
“Rye Lane” tells the story of two youngsters reeling from bad break-ups who connect over a particularly eventful day in South London. The film is available to stream on Disney+ now.
“All Of Us Strangers” is about what happens one night in his near-empty London tower block; screenwriter Adam has a chance encounter with mysterious neighbour Harry, puncturing the rhythm of his everyday life. As a relationship develops between them, Adam finds himself drawn back to his childhood home, where his parents appear to be living just as they were on the day they died 30 years ago. “All Of Us Strangers” is coming out in cinemas in the UK on January 26th 2024, and will be coming to Disney+ later in 2024.
