Hulu Developing “The Poison Daughter” Series

Hulu is continuing to build out its drama series output with a brand new show from 20th Television based on the popular Sheila Masterson novel, “The Poison Daughter”.

This new series will tell the story of Harlow Carrenwell, whose kiss kills every person she kisses, and that’s the way she likes it. The poison-lipped youngest daughter of Lunameade’s magical founding family has used her power to annihilate their opposition. Until one night Harlow kisses a mark and he doesn’t die. Worse, her invincible partner in passion is her new betrothed, Henry Havenwood, and now he knows about her double life.

The book was released back in October 2025, going on to become a USA Today Bestseller, with it also set to get a hardcover and audiobook version released later this month.

According to Deadline, Sheila Materson will also be an executive producer on the project, and 20th Television is looking for a writer to help adapt the book to a script.

No other details on the project such as who will star in it, or when it’ll start production or when it will be released on Hulu and Disney+ internationally.

As with any project in early development, there could be some creative changes and it might not necessarily make it to our screens.
