One of the upcoming Marvel Studios projects currently in development for Disney+ is “Ironheart”, which will star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who builds her own advanced suit of armour and follows in Iron Man’s footsteps.
According to Deadline, Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes have joined the project to direct the show.
Sam Bailey has previously co-created “Brown Girls” and has previously directed episodes of Netflix’s “Dear White People”. While Angela Barnes has directed episodes of FX’s “Atlanta”, along with episodes of “Mythic Quest” and “Blindspotting”.
Recently, it was revealed that Anthony Ramos will be starring in the Disney+ series.
It was also recently revealed that “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler and his production company, Proximity, are producing the series. Riri Williams will be introduced in the upcoming sequel film, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, which is coming to cinemas in November 2022.
Also producing the series for Disney+ will be Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Chinaka Hodge, alongside Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, and Zoie Nagelhout. Chinaka Hodge is also the head writer on the Disney+ series.
This new Marvel series is one of many currently in development for Disney+, including “Secret Invasion”, “Loki – Season 2”, “Armor Wars”, and many more.
