Disney is currently working on a new sequel to the 80’s smash hit, “Honey I Shrunk The Kids”, which is set to be called “Shrunk”.

The story is set to take place decades after the last movie, with Frozen’s Olaf Josh Gad, playing the role of a grown up Nick Szalinski.  And the film is set to begin production this spring in either Toronto or Atlanta.

According to the DisInsider, Disney are in early talks with the original movies star, Rick Moranis, to appear in the film as an older Wayne Szalinski.  These reports are still in the early stages and haven’t yet been confirmed by Disney.

Rick Moranis stepped away from acting in 1997, following the death of his wife, so he could raise their children.  He has performed voice over work for some films such as the two Brother Bear animated movies.

It isn’t yet been confirmed if “Shrunk” will be released in cinemas first or if it will be a Disney+ exclusive.  “Shrunk” will be directed by Joe Johnston.

Again, these are just early talks and nothing has yet been confirmed.

All three “Honey I” movies are available now on Disney+ to stream.

Would you like to see Rick Moranis return for “Shrunk”?
