Hulu’s “Deli Boys” Renewed For A Second Season

Disney has announced that the hit comedy series, “Deli Boys” has been renewed for a second season.  The show follows a pair of pampered Pakistani American brothers who lose everything and are forced to reckon with their Baba’s secret life of crime as they attempt to take up his mantle in the underworld.

It’s also been announced that Fred Armisen has joined the cast as a series regular.  Fred has previously worked as a comedian, writer, producer and musician.  He has previously worked on “The Super Mario Bros. Movie”, “Wednesday” and “Big Mouth”.

Armisen is set to play a legendary gambling savant with an uncanny ability to read people like cards. His casino empire is global, but his crown jewel is in Philly. He is uniquely brilliant and deeply unhinged – a deadly combo if you cross him.

Since its debut, “Deli Boys” has earned widespread critical acclaim and captured the attention of both industry insiders and mainstream audiences. The series holds a Certified Fresh rating of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes and earned a spot on the 2024 Gold House A100 List, honouring creator Abdullah Saeed and the cast for their cultural impact and creative excellence.

The show stars Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh and Poorna Jagannathan.  The half-hour series was created by Abdullah Saeed and developed by Jenni Konner and Nora Silver under Jenni Konner Productions. Michelle Nader, who served as showrunner in Season 1, was an executive producer alongside Saeed, Konner, and Silver. Nisha Ganatra served as executive producer and director of the pilot. The series hails from Onyx Collective and is produced by 20th Television.

The first season of “Deli Boys” is available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.  No release information has been revealed about when the second season will be released on Hulu and Disney+.
