It’s the start of a brand new month, and unfortunately, for Disney+ subscribers in the United States, it means that some titles are removed from the streaming service due to contracts previously made before the Walt Disney Company purchased 20th Century Fox.

Disney has kicked off February with the removal of the Searchlight Pictures animated film, “Fantastic Mr Fox”, which is now available to stream on HBO Max. The film is still available to stream on Disney+ in many other countries, since the deal with HBO only applies to the US.

George Clooney and Meryl Streep lend their voices to this hilarious and heartwarming animated adventure from visionary director Wes Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Fox (Clooney and Streep) live a happy home life with their eccentric son Ash (Jason Schwartzman) and visiting nephew Kristopherson. That is until Mr. Fox slips into his sneaky, old ways and plots the greatest chicken heist the animal world has ever seen. Based on the beloved, best-selling book by Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Fantastic Mr. Fox is family fun at its finest.

Unlike other streaming services, Disney+ doesn’t inform subscribers of upcoming removals. And while the removal is only temporary, it might take over a year before the movie returns to Disney+ in the United States.
