Two years ago, Disney debuted a brand new live-action comedy series called “The Villains of Valley View,” which follows a family of supervillains forced to hide their powers when teenage supervillain Havoc stands up to the head of the League of Villains, resulting in her family is forced to change their identities and relocate to a sleepy Texas suburb. With the help of her effervescent new neighbor Hartley, Havoc — going incognito as Amy — must somehow hide her superpowers and quell her villainous nature in favor of something she and the rest of her family have fought against all their lives: being normal.

The show stars Isabella Pappas (“Finding Alice”) as Amy/Havoc, Lucy Davis (“Wonder Woman”) as Eva/Surge, James Patrick Stuart (“General Hospital”) as Vic/Kraniac, Malachi Barton (Disney Channel’s “Stuck in the Middle”) as Colby/Flashform, Reed Horstmann (“The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia”) as Jake/Chaos and newcomer Kayden Muller-Janssen as Hartley. Patricia Belcher (“The Week of”) recurs as Celia.

Chris Peterson, who is is one the co-creatorsand executive producers on the series with Bryan Moore, took to social media to confirm that “The Villains Of Valley View” has been cancelled after two seasons and won’t be returning for a third season.

All good things must come to an end… and after two incredible seasons such is the case with “The Villains of Valley View.”
We’re beyond grateful to our amazing cast, writing staff and crew. We also want to thank all the loyal fans. You made us part of your family and you’ll forever be part of ours.

While it was never our intention to end the series on a cliffhanger, we hope that Amy, Hartley and the Maddens will live on in your hearts (and on Disney+) forever.

Rather than be sad, we invite everyone to join us as we rewatch of one of our favorite episodes,
“Haunted Jukebox,” airing on Disney Channel TOMORROW 10/3 at 7:30PM
Thank you again for making our show “a place for everyone.”

Both seasons of “The Villains Of Valley View” are still available to stream on Disney+.

Roger’s Take:  Unfortunately, Disney is really struggling to find an audience for most of its new live-action series.  These new series keep coming, but usually fall to the wayside as it just doesn’t seem like younger viewers today are clicking with this type of format.  With millions of things like streaming services, video games and social media vying for their attention, Disney needs to work out what younger audiences of today and tomorrow actually want to see, rather than making shows that worked for the generations before.

While the co-creator says the show will live on Disney+ forever without any cancellation, if you haven’t finished the latest season or haven’t started watching it yet, I’d suggest watching these episodes as quickly as possible since Disney has a nasty habit of removing cancelled shows without warning to save money.
