“Vanessa Gonzalez: Mamona” Coming Soon To Hulu & Hulu On Disney+

Disney is continuing to build out its Hularious comedy special lineup with the upcoming release of a new stand-up special from Vanessa Gonzalez, whose debut special, “Vanessa Gonzalez: Mamona”, will debut soon on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States.

Raised by a devout Catholic mother and a witch grandmother, Gonzalez’s special brings an unfiltered look at growing up in a Texas border town and what it means to be called Mamona. She takes the viewer on a journey through her family’s chaos, cultural expectations, and the absurd courage it takes to stop pleasing everyone else and start chasing your own dreams.

Vanessa has previously starred in truTV’s Laff Mobb’s “Laff Tracks”, “Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents”, “A Little Late with Lilly Singh” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”.

According to Deadline, this stand-up special has been executive produced by Vanessa Gonzalez and directed by Symone Baptiste.

Hulu has picked up the comedy special from Comedy Dynamics, whose CEO, Brian Volk-Weiss said in a statement regarding the deal:

“The sky is the limit for Vanessa. She’s a smart, witty comedian who can write jokes with the best of them.”

Vanessa also added:

“I’m so thrilled and honored to have my first hour special featured on a major streamer like Hulu. This is such a dream come true and I hope this special reaches all the mamonas of the 956!”
