Disney Picks Up Emmy Wins For “The Muppet Show, “Eyes Of Wakanda” & “Star Wars: Visions”
This weekend, the first two nights of the 78th Emmy Awards took place at the Peacock Theatre at L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles, which recognises many talented artists and craftspeople in variety, reality and nonfiction series in categories such as cinematography, costumes, casting, editing and hosting.
Disney had a successful haul of winners, with over ten awards, including “The Muppet Show” picking up four awards, “The Bear”, ” Eyes of Wakanda”, “Welcome to Wrexham”, “Who Wants to Be A Millionaire”, and “Star Wars: Visions”. National Geographic’s “Ocean With David Attenborough” picked up two awards, along with another for “Tucci in Italy“.
It’s also interesting to see that Marvel’s “Spider-Noir” also picked up five awards; however, Amazon recently revealed that the show won’t be returning for a second season. Highlighting that award-winning shows don’t necessarily mean they are safe.
Nights one and two will be edited into a single broadcast: the 78th Emmy Awards (Creative Arts), airing Saturday, 12th September 2026 on FXX at 8 p.m. ET/PT and it will be available to stream on Hulu/Hulu On Disney+ in the United States the next day.
The final night of the 78th Emmy Awards will take place on September 14th 2026, and will be hosted by Emmy winner Mariska Hargitay. It will be broadcast live on NBC from the Peacock Theatre at L.A. LIVE at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and will stream live and on demand on Peacock.
