Disney+ Renews Marvel’s “Wonder Man” For A Second Season
Earlier this year, Marvel released a brand-new original series called “Wonder Man” on Disney+ worldwide, and the show has been such a success that it has been announced that it will return for a second series.
The first season follows aspiring actor Simon as he struggles to launch his Hollywood career. Along the way, he crosses paths with fellow actor Trevor Slattery, and the two strike up an unlikely friendship — especially when Simon learns that celebrated director Von Kovak (Zlatko Burić) is remaking his favourite childhood Super Hero film, the 1980s cult classic Wonder Man.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley will reprise their roles as Simon and Trevor, with series co-creators Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest both returning for Season 2.
Guest returns as showrunner and executive producer, with Cretton back as director and executive producer. Cretton is also the director of the upcoming Marvel film, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, which will hit theatres on July 31st, 2026.
Unfortunately, Disney hasn’t announced any more details on the second season, such as when it might be filmed or released on Disney+, nor what the plot will be. Hopefully, we will find out more details soon, possibly at D23 this summer.
A social media post, with the cover of the script with Simon and Trevor’s name has been revealed, confirming the news:

Roger’s Take: “Wonder Man” offered something very unique for Marvel fans, with some amazing chemistry between the main stars, and I’ll be totally honest, I didn’t hold out much hope for a second season since it felt like a one-and-done type show. But I’m glad I was wrong, and we will see some further adventures with “Wonder Man”, though hopefully with a little more superhero adventures involved.
I can also see how this is a show that can exist away from the big films and, more importantly, be made on a small budget for television, plus Marvel also wants to make more shows with multiple seasons, rather than lots of limited series. Though I would have preferred a second season of “Ms Marvel” or “Moon Knight”, but hopefully those characters will return in other ways in the future.
The first season of “Wonder Man” is available to stream now on Disney+.
