Disney Release First Episode Of Pixar’s “Win Or Lose” On YouTube
Just ahead of the release of the final two episodes of the first Pixar animated series, “Win Or Lose” on Disney+, the very first episode of the series has been released by Disney on YouTube.
Pixar’s first-ever original series features the intertwined stories of eight different characters as they each prepare for their big championship softball game—the insecure kids, their helicopter parents, even a lovesick umpire.
In the first episode, “Coach’s Kid,” Laurie (voice of Rosie Foss) may not be the most skilled player on her softball team, but she makes up for it in spirit—most of the time. The 12-year-old struggles with insecurity that manifests into an amorphous, sentient creature called Sweaty (voice of Jo Firestone) that only she can see. Laurie’s anxiety mounts as the championship draws nearer—she literally carries an ever-growing Sweaty on her back, struggling under its weight. All she wants is to score a hit and make her dad aka Coach (voice of Will Forte) proud.

Featuring a voice cast that also includes Josh Thomson, Milan Elizabeth Ray, Rosa Salazar, Dorien Watson, Izaac Wang, Chanel Stewart, Lil Rel Howery, Melissa Villaseñor, Flula Borg, Kyleigh Curran, Jaylin Fletcher, Erin Keif, Tom Law, Beck Nolan, Orion Tran, and Rhea Seehorn, “Win or Lose” delivers Pixar’s signature blend of humor, heart, and groundbreaking animation.
Directed and written by Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates, and produced by David Lally, this visually stunning and deeply relatable series is packed with laugh-out-loud moments, emotional depth, and an unforgettable soundtrack featuring music by composer Ramin Djawadi and original songs by CAMPFIRE and Djawadi.
The first six episodes are now streaming on Disney+, with the final two episodes premiering next Wednesday to conclude the heartfelt series.
Roger’s Take: Disney has been embracing YouTube as a way of reaching a larger audience with its content aimed at younger audiences, especially as more and more kids are watching YouTube more than any other streaming platform. Putting out the first episode as a taster is ultimately going to be a great bit of promotion for the show, to potentially get more people to sign up to Disney+ and tying in this release with the current $2.99 duo bundle deal is hopefully going to get more people to sign up to Disney+.
