On Thursday evening, Disney held a special premiere event for the upcoming 20th Century Studios film, “Quiz Lady”, at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood.  The event was attended by the film’s director, Jessica Yu and screenwriter/producer Jen D’Angelo.  Due to the ongoing actor’s strike, the movie’s stars, Awkwafina and Sandra Oh, didn’t attend.     Also displayed at the premiere event were some of the costumes worn by the cast in the film.

This brand-new film is about a brilliant but tightly wound, gameshow-obsessed young woman, Anne (Awkwafina), and her estranged, train-wreck of a sister Jenny (Sandra Oh), must work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wild, cross-country trek to get the cash the only way they know how: by turning Anne into a bona-fide gameshow champion.

The movie also stars Jason Schwartzman, Holland Taylor, Tony Hale, and Will Ferrell, who is also a producer along with Jessica Elbaum, Maggie Haskins, Itay Reiss, Jen D’Angelo, Awkwafina, and Sandra Oh, with Alex Brown and Erika Hampson.

“Quiz Lady” will be released on Friday, 3rd November 2023, on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ in all other territories.
