Disney+ Adds 3.8 Million Subscribers
Today, the Walt Disney Company released its latest quarterly results for the fiscal fourth quarter of 2025, which means we get an updated look at the number of subscribers Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ have.
This gives us a clear indication of how the apps are doing, especially with growth or decline in subscriber numbers. These subscriber numbers are based on how many there were on 27th September, 2025.
Since the last quarter, Disney+ and Hulu have been able to add 3.8 million subscribers around the world, with an increase in both the domestic market and international markets.
It was also announced that Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer revenue increased 8%, net of an adverse impact of 2 ppts as Disney+ Hotstar was included in the prior-year quarter’s results. It also stated that its streaming business’s operating income increased $99 million to $352 million
Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a statement:
“This was another year of great progress as we strengthened the company by leveraging the value of our creative and brand assets and continued to make meaningful progress in our direct-to-consumer businesses. Our strategy, coupled with our portfolio of complementary businesses and a strong balance sheet, enables us to continue investing in high-quality offerings for our consumers and increasing our returns to shareholders, and I’m pleased with our many achievements this fiscal year to position Disney for the future.”
Disney has also provided a detailed breakdown per region as of 27th September 2025: (Million)
- Disney+ – Domestic (US & Canada) – 59.3
- Disney+ – International – 72.4
- Disney+ Global – 131.6
- Hulu – Million Subscribers (US Only) – 59.7
To compare, here are the subscription numbers (Millions) from 28th June 2025
- Disney+ – Domestic (US & Canada) – 57.8
- Disney+ – International – 69.9
- Disney+ Global – 127.8
- Hulu – Million Subscribers (US Only) – 51.2
Roger’s Take: It’s another great increase in subscriber numbers, which continue to grow. It’s also important to note that Disney will no longer report subscriber numbers each quarter, unless there is a major milestone or if Disney want to publicly let it be known.
