Last year during San Diego Comic Con, Marvel Studios Kevin Fiege confirmed Marvel is working on Captain Marvel 2 movie, but now more details have been revealed

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who co-wrote and directed the first movie, will not be returning for the sequel, because they are in talks to create a Marvel Disney+ series.

The upcoming “Captain Marvel” sequel, is going to be written by Megan McDonnell, who is currently working on the Disney+ series, WandaVision.

Captain Marvel 2 will be set in the present day and Disney is hoping to find a female director for the project.

Disney are looking to release the movie in theaters in 2022 and it’s been rumored that the upcoming Ms Marvel Disney+ show will be connected to the Captain Marvel sequel.

The first Captain Marvel movie is available to stream now on Disney+.
