“Baby Reindeer” Creators Developing New British Comedy “Alice & Steve” For Disney+
Disney is continuing to build on the success of some of its British Original dramas with a new comedy show called “Alice & Steve.” It is currently in pre-production by Clerkenwell Films, which is behind the hit Netflix series “Baby Reindeer” and “The End Of The F***** World.”
“Alice & Steve” is going to star Nicola Walker, who is well known for her roles in the BBC series, “The Split”, “Unforgotten”, “Spooks” and “Last Tango in Halifax”.
Jemaine Clement, who previously starred in “Flight of the Conchords” and “What We Do In The Shadows”, will also star in the new comedy.
Very little is known about the plot for “Alice & Steve”, but according to the Express, filming is currently scheduled to begin in May and casting for the new Disney+ Original series is underway.
“Disney securing her for one of their new comedies is seen as a big win for the streamer, who are equally delighted to have signed up Jemaine. Pre-production has just kicked off on Alice and Steve and some contracts are yet to be finalised, as well as scripts and the filming schedule. Bosses are hoping the cameras will be rolling just before the summer, with the show likely to go out in 2026.”
As with most British Disney+ Originals, expect this show to be released as a Star Original on Disney+ around the world and as a Hulu Original in the United States.
Over the past few years, we’ve seen Disney+ release many British original shows such as “Rivals”, “Culprits”, “Extraordinary”,
