Earlier this year, it was reported that Disney was working on a new “Night At The Museum” film for Disney+ and that it would be animated.

At Disney’s Investor Day event, it was confirmed by Walt Disney Studios that this movie is happening

Night at the Museum comes to Disney+ with a new twist: this time it’s animated. Shawn Levy, who has helped shape the blockbuster franchise as director of the previous films, and is also helming 20th Century Studios’ upcoming “Free Guy,” is on board as a producer.

The 2oth Century Studio franchise spawned a number of films, which are available on Disney+ in some countries.  In this series of movies, an Egyptian curse causes all of the museum’s animals and statues to spring to life after the building closes.

The new animated “Night at the Museum” film launches on Disney+ in 2021
