Disney is developing a new animated movie based on the 20th Century Studios franchise, “Night At The Museum”.  According to “The DisInsider”, the animated movie is tentatively titled Night At The Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again.

The new film will focus on Nick Daley, who is the son of Ben Stiller’s character Larry Daley, who is hesitant to carrying on the role of a nightwatchman at the museum.

Many characters from the live-action trilogy will be returning, including the Egyptian mummy Kahmunrah, cowboy Jedediah, Roman Legionnaire Octavius, former US President Teddy Roosevelt and Native American explorer, Sacagawea.  However, it’s unknown if the actors who played these roles in the live-action movies, such as Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan, will be returning, as the animated version maybe taking a fresh approach on the characters .  The new animated movie will also add Joan Of Arc, who will be helping build Nick’s confidence..

Production on the film is due to begin on November 2nd in Los Angeles, California.  Casting has already begun.

Disney is still in the early development on a fourth live-action “Night At The Museum” movie.

Night At The Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again is expected to arrive on Disney+ later next year.

The “Night At The Museum” trilogy of live-action movies is available on Disney+ in some countries.
