Just ahead of the season two finale of “Alert: Missing Persons Unit”, Deadline has revealed that the show has been renewed for a third season.

This procedural drama is set in the Philadelphia Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit (MPU). Each episode features a heart-pounding, life-or-death search for a missing person headed by detectives Jason Grant and Nikki Batista. Together with the MPU team, their job is to find the missing or abducted and reunite them with their loved ones. Jason and Nikki, once married, have a very personal connection to these cases as their own young son went missing and was never found. The emotional toll of their son’s disappearance blew up their marriage, but even though they’ve moved on, their bond remains.

“Alert Missing Persons Unit” stars Scott Caan, Dania Ramirez, Adeola Role and Ryan Broussard.  Carla Kettner serves as executive producer and showrunner. John Eisendrath, Jamie Foxx, Datari Turner, Jon Cowan, Brandon Sonnier, Brandon Margolis, Sean Hennen and Brad Turner are executive producers.

Due to the writer’s and actor’s strikes causing chaos for scheduling, with the third season, work has already begun, with production continuing from season two straight into season three.

“Alert: Missing Persons Unit” is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment.  Due to Disney’s deal with FOX, new episodes are available to stream the next day on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.   The previous two seasons are also available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.
