Disney Reveals “Incredibles 3” Release Date
One of Pixar’s most successful franchises is “The Incredibles”, an adventure about married superheroes Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, who are forced to assume mundane lives as Bob and Helen Parr after all super-powered activities have been banned by the government. While Mr. Incredible loves his wife and kids, he longs to return to a life of adventure, and he gets a chance when summoned to an island to battle an out-of-control robot. Soon, Mr. Incredible is in trouble, and it’s up to his family to save him.
During Disney’s D23 event in the summer of 2024, Pixar’s CCO Pete Docter revealed that a third film in the franchise was in development and last summer, it was confirmed that Peter Sohn would be directing the third film, which is based on a script from Brad Bird.
As part of today’s Annual Shareholder meeting, new Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro revealed that the third movie in the franchise, “The Incredibles 3” will be heading to cinemas on June 16th, 2028, likely then meaning we will see it available on Disney+ a few months later in the fall of 2028.
No other details on the sequel, such as what it will be about or who will star in it, have been revealed, but hopefully, we will get an update later this year at the D23 event in August, where Disney will outline some of its biggest new releases in the years ahead.
While we wait for the third instalment of “The Incredibles”, you can check out the last two films on Disney+ now.
Roger’s Take: We’ve known that the “Incredibles 3” film would be hitting screens in 2028, but now we’ve got official confirmation, making it the main animated film for the summer.
