Disney has announced some new changes to its executive team for Disney+ internationally, as it has made Tony Zameczkowski its new Senior Vice President & General Manager for its Direct-to-Consumer division (aka Disney+) across the Asia Pacific region.

Tony has worked in the media and entertainment business for over 25 years and was previously Netflix’s APAC Vice President and Regional Co-Head & Head of Partnership. He has also previously worked at Warner Bros. in Paris and at YouTube.

As part of this new role, he will be looking to drive further growth and development of Disney+ across Asia and the Pacific region, which continues to get more and more important to Disney.

This new placement has begun immediately, and Tony will report to Luke Kang, who is Disney’s APAC President, and Joe Earley, who is the President, Direct-to-Consumer at Disney Entertainment. Luke said in a statement regarding the new hiring:

“We are thrilled to have Tony lead our direct-to-consumer business as we continue to bolster Disney+ across APAC,”

Disney has had plenty of success across the APAC region, with many new original shows such as “Moving”, “Big Bet”, “Snowdrop” and others. There are many new shows heading to Disney+ from the region, including “Tempest” and more.
