20th Television Signs First-Look Deal With Omaha Productions
Disney’s 20th Television has signed a new first-look deal with Peyton Manning‘s Omaha Productions, which already has a first-look deal with Disney’s ESPN.
As part of this overall deal, Omaha Productions will develop and executive produce scripted comedy, drama, adult animation and limited series for linear networks and streamers with an emphasis on content for Disney Entertainment Television platforms, including Disney+ and Hulu.
Later this year, Disney will be releasing a brand new comedy series called “Chad Powers”, which is based on a sketch produced by NFL Films and Omaha that ran on ESPN+ as part of the Eli’s Places series. The new show will star Glen Powell, who will play Russ Holliday, who’s bad behavior nukes his college career, resulting in him disguising himself and walking onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.
Karey Burke, President of 20th Television said in a statement regarding the overall deal:
“Working with the incredible team at Omaha Productions while developing and filming Chad Powers has been pure joy. They have been true partners at every turn, and share our commitment to creative excellence and culture defining storytelling. We are thrilled to keep making magic with Peyton and his entire team.”
Peyton Manning added:
“We are thrilled to expand the partnership with our friends at 20th Television. With their help, we hope to create more shows that bring people together across a wide range of genres. We are thankful for Dana Walden, Eric Schrier, Karey Burke, and Carolyn Cassidy’s support in addition to Bob Iger, Jimmy Pitaro, and Burke Magnus.”
Other shows that Omaha Productions has worked on with Disney include Hulu’s “It’s All Country” and “The Final Straw”, in addition to many live sports events, including the Pro Bowl Games, the NFL Flag Championships, NFL Honors and The ESPY Awards, as well as audio, featuring podcasts from Scott Van Pelt, Mina Kimes, Kenny Beecham, Kevin Clark, and Greg McElroy.
