“The Rookie” Renewed For An Eighth Season
Disney has announced that it has renewed the hit police drama series, “The Rookie” for a eighth season.
The show tells the story of John Nolan, who was once the oldest rookie in the LAPD. He has used his life experience, determination, and sense of humor to keep up with rookies who were 20 years his junior. Now recovering from a gunshot wound and feeling the effects of his age, John and the team welcome two new rookies and continue the hunt for two dangerous escaped prisoners who have very personal vendettas.
This series has been a regular hit for ABC, along with being a good performer on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.
Much like the most recent season, the next season will consist of 18 episodes and it’s unknown when the show will return on ABC.
“The Rookie” stars Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, Mekia Cox as Nyla Harper, Alyssa Diaz as Angela Lopez, Richard T. Jones as Sergeant Wade Grey, Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen, Eric Winter as Tim Bradford, Jenna Dewan as Bailey Nune, Shawn Ashmore as Wesley Evers and Lisseth Chavez as Celina Juarez.
Alexi Hawley is the creator and executive producer. Mark Gordon, Nathan Fillion, Michelle Chapman, Bill Norcross and Brynn Malone are executive producers on the series.
New episodes are released the day after they air on ABC on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+. The previous seasons of “The Rookie” are also available to stream on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+. Earlier this month, older seasons of the show were also released on Disney+ in many countries, including Canada and Australia.
