20th Television is currently developing a new untitled limited series about Amanda Knox, which is due to begin filming in October. The series is based on the true story of how Knox was wrongfully convicted for the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher, and her 16-year odyssey to set herself truly free.

Disney has announced that Grace Van Patten has joined the project to star as Amanda Knox. Grace has previously starred in the Hulu Original series “Tell Me Lies” and “Nine Perfect Strangers”. She has also starred in “A Violent Heart,” “Good Posture,” “Under the Silver Lake” and “Mayday.”

“Poor Things” Margaret Qualley was originally going to star in the series, but she had to withdraw due to scheduling issues.

The upcoming series is being written by KJ Steinberg, who will also be an executive producer. It is being produced by The Littlefield Company’s Warren Littlefield, Lisa Harrison, Ann Johnson, and Graham Littlefield. Monica Lewinsky, Knox, and Chris Robinson of Knox Robinson Productions are also set to executive produce the project.

This upcoming limited series will be released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.
