Disney has announced that the classic 20th Century Studios Marvel film, “X-Men”, is going to be returning to Disney+ in the United States on Friday, 5th January 2024.

The film has been added and removed to Disney+ twice before in the United States, having been removed in both early 2021 and 2023, due to pre-existing contracts made with other streaming platforms before Disney purchased 20th Century Fox.  Though the film remained on Disney+ internationally.

This film introduces the X-Men, who are a group of mutants with extraordinary powers who wage a fight against both intolerance, and a fellow band of radical mutants intent on exterminating the human race.  

It stars Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, James Marsden, Bruce Davison, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, and Ray Park. The film was directed by Bryan Singer and produced by Lauren Shuler Donner and Ralph Winter.

“X-Men” was initially released in cinemas in 2020 and went on to make around $300 million at the box office, which resulted in multiple sequels and in during the summer, characters from this film will be appearing in the next MCU movie, “Deadpool 3”.
